Animal Encounters

Experience the WILD Side of Marine Animal Care!

The Oregon Coast Aquarium’s Animal Encounters Are Sure to Delight the Daring

                                              Sea Lion Kisses Anita

The Oregon Coast Aquarium invites you to join us on an Animal Encounter.  This program is designed to bring visitors up close and personal with some of the Aquarium's more interesting and unique animals. Learn about the seemingly playful sea otters and the amazing sea lions who would love to give you a big smooch!

Depending upon which encounter you join us for, you will have the chance to work with a member of the Aquarium's Education and Animal Husbandry staff participating in an animal feeding, getting a kiss from a sea lion, and/or learning the various skills and knowledge required to care for each animal. This is an opportunity for participants to learn what's involved in providing the Aquarium's animals with the best possible care and keeping the Animal Husbandry department running smoothly.

Pre-registration is required as tours are only offered on scheduled dates, and interested parties should call (541) 867-3474 ext. 2313 to register. Each encounter will have a minumum of four participants and a maximum of ten participants. Participants must be at least eight years or older and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Payment Policy: Full payment is required at the time of booking. In order to be provided a full refund or to be given the opportunity to select a different program date, please provide us with 48 hours notice if you can not partipate in your scheduled program. If we need to cancel the program due to low enrollment (less than 4), a full refund will be provided. We will provide you 48 hours notice if the program needs to be cancelled.
