Sea Lion Encounter

Sea Squirts: Super Swimmers

10:30am–12pm

Ages 2-3/parent

$15 members, $20 non-members

Splish splash, we’re taking a bath!  It’s time to put on your flippers and your fins and get ready to learn all about how our slippery Aquarium friends swim.  We’ll have fun singing songs and dancing like a fish out of water as we uncover the secrets to what makes ocean animals sensational swimmers.

Oceans of Fun Summer Camp: Animal Adaptations

9am – 12pm

Ages 4-5

$80 members, $90 non-members

Ever wonder why sea urchins have spines or how sea anemones catch their food while staying stuck to the rocks?  Join us to find the answers and learn more about the amazing adaptations of our Aquarium animals.  Join the fun of songs, crafts and games that will be played each day.

Sea Squirts: Pond Pals

10:30am–12pm

Ages 2-3 with parent

Leap onto lilypad fun!  Explore what lives behind the log, sneaks through the grass and swims under the water of your friendly neighborhood pond.  Discover why frogs, bugs, and fish call this wet wonderland their home.  Just add water!

Sea Safari Summer Camp: Habitats

9am – 3pm

Ages 1st – 2nd graders entering fall 2010

$135 members, $150 non-members

Join our adventure into near shore habitats such as the rocky shore, kelp forest and mangrove swamps!  We will learn about how animals live in these extreme environments through songs, crafts and games.

Cub Scout Combination Sleepover

6 pm – 9 am

Ages 6 and up

$50 members, $55 non-members

Scouts are invited to spend the night with us in our Passages of the Deep tunnels. We'll eat pizza, go on a scavenger hunt, participate in fun, hands-on activities designed to meet some specific badge requirements. Then, we'll settle down with a late night snack and be lulled to sleep by the smooth moves of the beautiful creatures of the sea. Wake up with cereal, juice, coffee, tea and fruit to energize for a behind-the-scenes look at how the birds, seals and seal lions are fed by our wonderful husbandry staff! Please register at least two weeks in advance by calling (541) 867-3474 ext. 5301.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium will celebrate Sharks August 1 – 14 with a variety of events highlighting the fascinating world of sharks. All of the sharks exhibited at the Oregon Coast Aquarium are species native to Oregon’s coastal waters. Visitors will meet the sharks from Oregon’s coast during the two week celebration of sharks.

Oceans of Fun Summer Camp: Animal Behavior

Ages 4-5

Learn to bark like a sea lion, dive like a sea bird and change color like an octopus!  This camp will focus on how animals act in their home environment.  Songs, crafts, stories and games will be included each day.

Sea Squirts: Wonderful Walkers

Have you ever tiptoed through a tidepool or danced like a sea lion?  Well, here’s your chance!  Join us as we investigate the different ways sea creatures walk around in and out of the water.  You’ll do the sea lion shimmy and side step like a crab as we discover the incredible ways some sea creatures get around.

What's in the air?  Birds, bats, and bugs of course!  This class will explore the winged world of the Oregon coast through songs, crafts, and stories.
